Kylix Vs. Lazarus

I am working on ZipTV for Kylix - www.pitsoftware.com - and plan to develop a FreePascal version too. What are the differences - you may also use my forum at www.pitsoftware.com/forums.

Hi

One big difference: FreePascal doesn't support ressource-files ($R). With Lazarus you can use something similar but it's not the same. AFAIK this works only for the propertie-values (like DFM) but not for real ressource-files (like ICON, RC_DATA...)

Lazarus are the IDE for freepascal.

i am not sure bud i worked since 3 year and i am include $R files manual.
There are little different.

Lazarus can convert .dfm > lazarus or have convert tools to get delphi/kylix projects
to lazarus projects.

Bud you need a work to convert the rest.

Kylix are do not get updates or do not supported and do not developered now.
(get from headquarters Borland).

I think lazarus is a very good developer tool.

Hello,

I did try Lazarus (on a Mac) and I must conclude that on the one hand the basic ideas are very good but there is so many additional work requested that the system appears to be not usable currently. Do you have better experiences?
